By: Adang Setiawan

It's unlimited happiness when we passed university/ college and get the Scholar's graduation.
Various congratulations from relatives and the friend then arrived as the feeling of the happiness. But after the graduation ceremony ended, what was thought about by you? At the time of so thoughts arrived like the wish to immediately get the work and became the employee in a company.

Usually they then realise that to get the work in the condition as this really had difficulty.
To gain him certainly was needed by the competition that was quite tight With only use your university certificate must then compete also with the applicant who has been experienced.
When you confusion was waiting for the answer of the application letter, better should not neglect the time. So looked for the other alternative by trying entrepreneur/ small business opportunity. This is good idea than did not have the work completely.

With trying entrepreneur, apart from could overcome beneficial also saturation in trying to apply science that was obtained in the classroom. That could be worn also to measure the capacity in analysed to look for an business opportunity. Before you chose to business, necessary apparently to recognise beforehand yourself . Did Anda have the characteristics to become a person entrepreneur or became an employee/the official?

By knowing the characteristics that owned, it was hoped you were not wrong in choosing the profession that really was suitable. Along with this several characteristics of a businessman:

1. An entrepreneur had the feeling of the self-confidence.
Meaning that always the optimist in taking a step, did not have the dependence attitude to the other person, as well as the conviction would his capacity in overcoming the problem that possibly emerged.

2. An entrepreneur had the high creativity power, meaning that having the capacity to create new ideas.

3. An entrepreneur must have courage in taking the risk in facing the loss, and in the competition for business.

4. An entrepreneur was oriented in the task and results. Meaning that giving priority to the high-achieving motive, had perseverance and the high determination, worked hard to reach what became his aim without know surrendered.

5. An entrepreneur had the high initiative. Meaning that always wanted to search and began to do something without being waiting for the order from the other person.

6. An entrepreneur had the characteristics of leadership. Meaning that he always wanted to appear the difference, more previously or more prominent than the other person.

From the six characteristics of the entrepreneur, did you have these character on the whole or some. Or you did not have these characteristics completely. Be kept being chosen by you, waited for the call to become the employee or to be ready to work hard as an entrepreneur. If chose to be entrepreneur, you were kept developing the characteristics and the character that were owned and undertook it with all your heart. On the other hand, if you not have these character you apparently more was suitable to become the employee.

I know this is old, but I'll keep it in mind since I plan on running my own business soon. I know it'll be tough, so I can use all the help and advice I can get. More recently, I've been thinking about buying a business instead of starting one from scratch. Maybe a franchise? Home based? I’m not sure. Do you have any suggestions or advice? Thanks.

@N.Broome - Yeah, running a business will be a bit challenging regardless if you start from scratch or buy a business. If you do want to buy a business though, there are a lot of resources available for you to use. There's one website called BizTrader.com. It's this online global marketplace where you can buy or sell a business. You can also use it to find a lender, broker, etc.

I also suggest checking out books and magazines. They can provide up-to-date information and tips. And it might be beneficial to join a small business group in your area.

Good luck!
